"Gorillaz started in 1998, in which their target audience would be of an age range of around 15-24" Why should this be so ? I think advertising and promotion may have a target range, but bands probably do not design their output for a specific age range. Also, both Damon Albarn had a succesful career with Blur beginning 10 years before Gorillaz, and Jamie Hewlett's Tank Girl also came out in 1988 which would seem to indicate that the upper end of any 'target range' would also be 10 years higher.
Fair point, but when considering the music genre, an alternative hip hop and some what electronic genre would have a primary target audience of somewhere between 15-24. Obviously there are secondary audiences, and fans of Albarns previous work may also enjoy the Gorillaz. And then again, there will be plenty of 15-24 year olds who hate Gorillaz. However when trying to settle on our own target audience for our music video, we wanted to focus on a target audience of 15 - 24, who would relate to our video, enjoy the music and would be available to recieve audience feedback from.
